What is VoIP?
VoIP stands for ‘Voice over Internet Protocol’. This sounds like quite a technical term but all it means is making and receiving voice phone calls over the internet instead of through a traditional copper phone line and hardware telephone exchange.
If you are an exporter of company that has overseas clients or customers then we can help you lower your call costs. Calling international numbers doesn’t have to be expensive if you have a VoIP telephone account, so that your calls can be routed over the internet, which is much cheaper than traditional phone services.
We offer some very low cost international calls’ tarrifs. For example our customers can ring any number in the mainland US for only 1.2c per minute. That applies to all mobiles or landlines and at all times, including peak hours. The phone market in the USA doesn’t differentiate between mobiles (cellphones) or landlines and there is no peak or off-peak, so you can actually call the mainland USA at a cheaper rate than you can call Irish landlines. The only difference is that a small connection fee of 1.2c is charged per call. Hawaii and Alaska are slightly more but still great value.

14th November, 2017, Dublin, Ireland: Irish telecoms firm, Goldfish, today released the Babelphone, their new cloud phone. It is a new type of phone that allows calls to be made directly from within a web-browser. The Babelphone is the first cloud phone, or browser-based phone, of its kind to be developed by an Irish company.
Designed by Goldfish, as an alternative to traditional softphones, the Babelphone simplifies how the Wicklow-based company’s customers make and receive phone calls. Some of the larger companies they work with have requested a cloud-based phone that can be accessed by their staff from anywhere, without the need for download and configuration. The result is the Babelphone, which can be accessed via a simple link, to quickly and conveniently make and receive calls through a web-browser. All calls are encrypted within Goldfish’s network.
Goldfish’s founder and CEO recently spoke at the UPRISE Festival in Dublin. UPRISE is not your normal tech event, it has been styled on the theme of an outdoor music festival, with DJs, a laidback bean-bag-approach to business and picnic tables for exhibitors instead of stands. While they are great for one or two people, if you are having a large conference call then a dial-in telephone conferencing facility is more convenient. We provide unlimited conference call facilities for only €2 per month and all you pay for is the call. That means you can have as many people on the conference call as you require.
How does it worK? It’s is very simple: we give you and your colleagues a number to dial with a PIN number. Any whom wishes to join the conference call then dials in separately from their own phones. It is a great service and one that our customers use a lot.

You’ll be dealing with customer support enquiries by phone and email on a daily basis, so you’ll need to be very comfortable in a customer focused role and have a good technical background. We provide cloud telecoms, VoIP and Quvu our contact management software to businesses across Ireland, some of which have international operations.
